Andy Murray's new coach IS Brad GilbertAfter some intense negotiations and speculations. It appears that Brad Gilbert has agreed to coach Andy Murray and the LTA (Lawn tennis Association) will be footing the estimated £500.000 bill for his services. It will be a timely appointment for Murray who crashed out in this week’s semi-final of the Campbell’s Hall of Fame Championships on the grass of Newport, Rhode Island, where he was the top seed. In today’s Times Online, Barry Flatman reports that both Jimmy Connors and John McEnroe were in previous negotiations with the LTA over coaching Andy Murray, but the said negotiations fell down. It is expected that 44-year-old Brad Gilbert will be primarily employed by the LTA, but they will loan his services for an expected 28 weeks a year to Murray. Additionally he will be required to work with other LTA coaches and involved in the training and coaching of other British hopefuls. Click here to discuss this on the Tennis forum
